Summary: The app does not collect personal information. Only anonymous usage data is collected to improve the experience.
1. Information We Collect
Bill Scanner collects the following types of data:
Anonymous usage data: App open frequency, number of bill scans, features used. All data is anonymized and not linked to personal identity.
Device information: Device type, operating system, app version. Does not include IMEI, phone number, or identifying information.
Crash data (Crashlytics): Technical information when the app encounters errors, helping us fix bugs faster.
We do NOT collect: Name, phone number, email, national ID, bank account information, bill contents, or bill photos.
2. Data Stored on Device
All personal data (bill history, bank account information for QR generation, budget) is stored locally on your device and is not sent to any of our servers. When you uninstall the app, all this data is deleted.
3. Third-Party API Usage
When scanning a bill, the image is sent to:
Google Gemini AI — processes text recognition in images. Images are processed and not stored long-term per Google's policy.
VietQR API — generates payment QR codes. Only receives the account number and amount you provide.
4. Analytics Tools
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to:
Track user count and usage frequency (anonymously)
Export bill history data via the "Export backup" feature in the app

6. Security
Bank account information you enter in the app is only used to generate VietQR codes and is stored locally on your device, protected by Android's security system. We have no access to this information.
7. Children
The app is not directed at users under 13 years of age and does not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Important changes will be announced via app updates. The last update date is always displayed at the top of this page.
